Job Role:
• Provides information, training, guidance and support for infection prevention and control for all hospital employees including administrative and ancillary services.
• Responsible for the surveillance, analysis, and reporting of Hospital Acquired infections
• Ensuring the implementation of various infection control policies in the hospital.
• Assisting environmental control through surveillance of water supply systems as needed
• Participates in the formal teaching programmes during the orientation of new staff.
• Collects data-pertaining to c/s reports from microbiology department.
• Keeps track of all patient with
o Intravascular catheters
o Urinary catheters
o Medical/surgical wounds
o Instrumentation of respiratory tract (ET tubes, tracheotomy tubes)
• Monitoring and surveillance of Bio-Medical Waste Management practices & protocols.
• Assistance in the vaccination of employees.
• Reporting daily to Head of Infection control committee
• Attending relevant committee meetings, seminars, workshops or infection control update the knowledge.
• Conducts clinical audit to maintain high standard of care with respect to infection control and prevention.
• To establish an antibiotic susceptibility pattern, The rate of infection and the number of isolates grown, Intravenous line related infections, Wound sepsis rates, Urinary tract infection rates and Respiratory tract infection rates

Study various cultures of microorganisms in isolation according to standard inhibition and ensure control over moisture and temperature.
Maintain accurate records and perform tests on all activities conducted in the laboratory.

Job Role:
- Work directly with physicians, other health professionals, and patients to ensure that the medications prescribed for patients contribute to the best possible health outcomes.
- Assess the status of the patient’s health problems and determine whether the prescribed medications are optimally meeting the patient’s needs and goals of care.
- Evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of the patient’s medications.
- Recognize untreated health problems that could be improved or resolved with appropriate medication therapy.
- Follow the patient’s progress to determine the effects of the patient’s medications on his or her health.
- Consult with the patient’s physicians and other health care providers in selecting the medication therapy that best meets the patient’s needs and contributes effectively to the overall therapy goals.
- Advise the patient on how to best take his or her medications.
- Support the health care team’s efforts to educate the patient on other important steps to improve or maintain health, such as exercise, diet, and preventive steps like immunization.
- Refer the patient to his or her physician or other health professionals to address specific health, wellness, or social services concerns as they arise.
- Provide a consistent process of patient care that ensures the appropriateness, effectiveness, and safety of the patient’s medication use.
- Consult with the patient’s physicians and other health care providers to develop and implement a medication plan that can meet the overall goals of patient care established by the health care team.
- Apply specialized knowledge of the scientific and clinical use of medications, including medication action, dosing, adverse effects, and drug interactions, in performing their patient care activities in collaboration with other members of the health care team.
- Call on their clinical experience to solve health problems through the rational use of medications.
- Rely on their professional relationships with patients to tailor their advice to best meet individual patient needs and desires.
- Evaluate all clinical procedure and coordinate with pharmacy and medical staff to perform regular interventions according to present drugs
- Perform regular evaluation on all usage and dosage and ensure absence of all reactions
- Maintain record of all medication for patients and ensure absence of all discrepancies and analyze all side effects and drug interactions
- Prepare all clinical documents
- Coordinate with all medical care managers and evaluate all high-risk members to prevent all risks
